The two of us have experience with all these things and more! So feel free to get in touch and tell us what is it you’re looking to do, and we’ll find a way to help you do it!

Pronounce it the right way

Perhaps your interest in Latin is limited to history or linguistics, and you want to be able to pronounce Latin words and phrases correctly. Or you might be an experienced Latinist who still finds that there’s room for improvement to their pronunciation. Or you just want to make sure that your prof is teaching you to pronounce things right. Sure, you can’t learn it from a native, but extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience makes yours truly a reasonable next best thing.

Understand Latin from Day 1

Start learning to think in, write, speak, and read Latin from the beginning! We will work through Familia Romana, the first book in the Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata series, with you as well as provide you with additional resources and activities to immerse you in as much Latin as possible. You will learn to read, write, understand spoken Latin — and you’ll speak some yourself as early as chapter 1! Sounds too good to be true? Come and let’s find out!

Stop translating, start reading!

We’ve heard many testimonies from people who are frustrated to realise they’ve spent years being taught how to decode Latin instead of how to read it. This course will help you move from knowing about Latin grammar to internalising it as part of your language proficiency, and in the process develop your reading skill. Learn to really read Latin with speed so that it can become a pleasurable pastime and not a tedious scavenger hunt in the dictionary!

Academic Tutoring

Do you need a little extra boost in your Latin class? Are you trying to make it through all of the AP Latin readings? Do you need someone to work through your graduate school reading list with you? We’ve taught all levels of Latin learners! Regardless of your textbook and whether it’s reading or grammar-focused, we can help you be more academically successful in your Latin course.

Conversational Latin

The number of people speaking Latin has seemingly increased exponentially in the past decade. Maybe you’ve encountered people speaking Latin on Zoom or on YouTube , and you want to join in the fun! It can be difficult to figure out where to start if you’ve learned Latin mainly through translation. We can guide you through conversations and give you the vocabulary necessary to start speaking Latin about the real world today!

Of course, conversational Latin is not just an aim in itself – it’s also an outstanding way to test and develop one’s understanding of grammatical and stylistic nuance, expand one’s vocabulary and improve pronunciation.

Reading Latin Literature

Whether you are a learner who would like help transitioning into reading historical Latin literature or a more experienced Latinist who wants accountability and to broaden their outlook, you will find your task made immensely easier with our help and guidance.

You might even simply want to have the text read out loud for you to experience it the same way the Romans did, to focus on meaning instead of pronunciation or vice versa, or to train your listening comprehension. We will make it possible.
